Jesus

There is a world of opinions regarding Jesus Christ of Nazareth. For some, He was a great teacher, a prophet. For others, He was an angel or a man who became a god. If we seek to know the truth about Him, we must look to the Bible which is the Word of God.

Key points

Jesus, while remaining God, humbled Himself by leaving heaven to live on earth as a simple man. He did this out of love to pay for our sins (John 3:16 & Philippians 2:5-8) Jesus is the “firstborn,” a title of honour that indicates His preeminence in the human family, the Heir. This title applies well to Christ in His humanity, He who has the pre-eminence over all men. Moreover, Jesus, the “Son of man” has always modelled humility in excellence, and this, at all levels. (John 8:28, 14:28).

God provided a way for you to access Him and everything He placed in you. This access is through Jesus Christ. The Bible explains that God knew that we would need His help, so He came into the world (Jesus) to save us. We have all done things that should disqualify us from His help or love, but nothing in existence can separate you from His love. By accepting Him in your life, you have His promise that He will guide you, and that You will never be alone (Hebrews 13:5).  The Love of God is unconditional and irrevocable. The Bible has many scriptures that show you His love and plans for your best future. Here are a few of them…

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen.  If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.“” (Jeremiah 29:11-13).

“But Christ proved God’s passionate love for us by dying in our place while we were still lost and ungodly!” (Romans 5:8)

“And what is God’s “living message”? It is the revelation of faith for salvation,  which is the message that we preach. For if you publicly declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will experience salvation. The heart that believes in Him receives the gift of the righteousness of God and then the mouth confesses, resulting in salvation (Romans 10:9-10).

“For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10:13).

“For by grace you have been saved by faith. Nothing you did could ever earn this salvation, for it was the love gift  from God that brought us to Christ! So no one will ever be able to boast, for salvation is never a reward for good works or human striving. We have become his poetry,  a re-created people that will fulfill the destiny He has given each of us, for we are joined to Jesus, the Anointed One. Even before we were born, God planned in advance our destiny and the good works  we would do to fulfill it!” (Ephesians 2:8-10).

“But to all who believed Him and accepted Him, He gave the right to become children of God” (John 1:12).

“This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Are you searching? Do you ever wonder who you are or why you are here? Who is this Jesus that people speak of? Why does He matter?

The Bible says that if you seek, you will find, when you seek with all of your heart (Jeremiah 29:11-13).

God wants you to find and fulfill the desires of your heart but as Wayne Jacobsen said, “You can’t press a caterpillar into a butterfly mold and make it fly. It has to be transformed from the inside.”

The Beautiful thing is that God placed the seed of everything you need inside of you. He hid it in you until it’s time. Like a pregnancy – birth time is now. But it isn’t easy – which is why you need God to guide you.

If you want to accept His help, and His love, it’s as simple as saying this prayer. This prayer is a simple conversation between you and Jesus, asking Him to come into your heart and life. Simply say these words:

Jesus, I believe in You. I believe that You are the Son of God. I believe that You died for my sins, and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Saviour. Amen

If you’ve said this prayer, and believe it in your heart – you are now born again! We are excited that you have chosen to make this decision.

You are not alone – we would love to connect with you, to celebrate and encourage you!
